Things are really heating up on NBC’s long-running singing competition soundBecause season 30 continues to air on the 2026 TV schedule. While Queen Latifah and Riley Green may be new players this time around, they certainly aren’t acting like they’re on the same page as their teams are dominating The Battle. However, don’t count out veteran coach Adam Levine, who won Season 29 with Alexia Jay and Kelly Clarkson as his teams also rose to the occasion in this surprising set of episodes.
Although things got off to a strong start on Monday, the rocky ending really impressed me. However, after tonight’s episode, I’m even more shocked by a different revelation.

Riley Green gets a second chance with a Voice contestant who was previously eliminated
The first night of The Battles was truly one of the best nights in history that I can remember sound. The talent was of such a high standard that it didn’t feel like there were clear and obvious choices with any of the pairings. It was also surprising that the coaches were not using their savings to retain any of the eliminated singers in the competition.
That is, until the final performance of “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town, when American Idol the winner faced Marshall The guest star will get a second chance to work with Kayleigh Matthews after the country singer was surprisingly chosen Team Queen during the Blind Auditions.
When Kylie first came out, Riley Green pulled out all the stops, even setting up the Maroon 5 singer in a straw hut known as a duck blind. However, intrigue between the two led her to avoid them both altogether and choose Queen Latifah as her coach.
So, when chicago Starr gave the win to Lily Kolich, Kelly and Riley decided to go head to head to fight for the artist who had previously slipped through both of their fingers. To increase anticipation, the reveal of Kayleigh’s new coach was kept until Tuesday’s episode.
Night 2 of The Battles immediately jumped back into that tough ending. While Kelly Clarkson declared the duet cover of “Girl Crush” to be her favorite of all time, Kayleigh ultimately decided to take her love of country music to Team Riley. I’m excited to see what they do together in the future.
However, that wasn’t the biggest surprise of the night.
Two Voice singers learned how much they have in common
Originally, 19-year-old Marcus Laden Jr. and 30-year-old Chari weren’t even linked together until Queen Latifah decided to change things up. And thank God there was a last minute change, because these two actors share very important things in common. The duo singing “On My Own” discovered that not only did they graduate from the same high school 10 years apart, but they also had the same music/piano teacher who mentored them both, making them the perfect pair to really lift each other up.
He did exactly the same. It was a gift to see Chari and Marcus share their talents, and while Chari may have been more technically proficient because she had been singing longer, Marcus was so good that Kelly couldn’t let go of him and she decided to use her steals.
All around, this exciting set of episodes kept me on the edge of my seat and gave me surprises that warmed my heart.
Now, live shows are on the horizon, but the winners of Season 30 sound The announcement will not be made until December. Given the level of talent, I don’t know who will be the last singer. Plus, the competition series will shake things up season 31 Voice: CelebrityAnd I’m definitely curious to see how it plays out. However, for now, I’ll stay here, thinking about these wonders and about this season sound Can move.
