Zach Bryan wears “Free Palestine” shirt at Gillette Stadium concert

Following Robert Kraft’s campaign against Macklemore, Zach Bryan made a statement with his performance at Gillette Stadium.

During a Friday stop at the Kraft-owned site with heaven On tour, the Grammy winner took to the stage with a “Free Palestine” shirt after Kraft and other venue owners pressured Ed Sheeran to remove Macklemore from his tour due to his vocal support for Palestinians.

With another performance scheduled for Saturday night at a Massachusetts venue, it remains to be seen whether Kraft will pull the plug.

The show comes after Ed Sheeran was forced to cancel his Gillette Stadium show amid a nor’easter headed for Boston last weekend, despite giving in to Kraft’s demands.

Sheeran pulled Macklemore from his tour last month amid outrage over the opener’s “Free Palestine” comment on stage. Opting to remain publicly neutral on the issue, Sheeran later released a statement saying that it was a “promoter’s decision” after Craft gathered several tour venues to give him an ultimatum.

Following the statement, fellow tour openers Finneas, Aaron Rowe and Lucas Graham pulled out of the tour with Sheeran’s backing band Beyoga.

Meanwhile, Macklemore last week announced the Free Palestine Tour, “supporting the Palestinian people and movement”, running 10/26-10/30 in Dublin, Paris and London. He then updated that the tour “sold out instantly.”
