A lot was cut from the episode
We saw the first in the history of Celebrity Traitors last night, when James Acaster had a complete breakdown and told everyone at the roundtable that he was a traitor, but much of the episode was edited out, and filming was halted.
Michael Sheen was completely spot on with his perfume theory and he nailed the traitor in incredible scenes. But instead of defending himself, Acaster revealed his true identity and even admitted that he had been recruited.
Showbiz reporter Jack Harding said that the comedian became so upset by the whole affair that filming was halted for “quite a long time”. Revealed on TikTokAnd the welfare workers had to come in. The staff checked everyone and gave them food and water, and they were banned from talking to each other during breaks to protect the show.

an insider told The Sun: “What you didn’t see is the moment when James became upset and stumbled when he saw he was about to be caught. Both the producers and the other celebrities could see how he was struggling with the pressure of keeping his true identity a secret and when confronted he reached some kind of breaking point.
“The team were then forced to intervene, and halted filming while they assessed the situation. They spoke to both James and the rest of the stars and did not allow filming to resume until they were sure everyone was in fit condition. But very little was captured on camera, and much of what was recorded did not make it into the final edit.”
It was previously revealed that James became “very anxious and nervous” during the scene, and other celebrities asked the production to stop filming.

“The show is incredibly intense and during one particular scene in the castle, James became very anxious and nervous,” she said. The insider told The Sun. “Some of the other celebrities on the show spoke up and said the cameras should be off so she could calm down, and production agreed.”
A spokesperson for The Traitors said: “The Traitors is a unique and intense game, and we recognize that taking part in it can sometimes be intense. Our top priority is always the safety and welfare of everyone taking part. Players are closely monitored and supported throughout the production, including a dedicated and experienced welfare team.”
