Trooping the Color has marked the official birthday of the monarch for over 260 years. More than 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians take part in a display of military precision, horsemanship and pomp. The parade travels from Buckingham Palace through the Mall to Horse Guards Parade and ends with a Royal Air Force fly-past.

Since their children were young, William and Kate opted for private schools, starting in 2016 with Westacre Montessori School for George, which costs £33 a day to attend, and the £14,500-a-year Wilcox Nursery School for Charlotte and Louis.
George and Charlotte later attended Thomas’s Battersea, before all three siblings attended Lambrook School, near their Windsor home.

Education
When George started studying at Thomas’s Battersea in 2017, term fees were £6,385 (about $8,420.19) and this rose to £7,520 when he started middle school there. Charlotte joined her older brother at the school in 2020. Because she was the second child of the same family at Thomas’s Battersea, she was paid a sibling discount fee of £6,560 per season.
However, both moved to a new school in 2022. Less than two weeks before their first day, Kensington Palace announced in a statement: “Their Royal Highnesses are very grateful to Thomas Battersea where George and Charlotte have enjoyed an enjoyable start to their education since 2017 and 2019 respectively and are delighted to have found a school for all three of their children that shares the same ethos and values.”

George, Charlotte and Louis all started at Lambrook School on the same day as their great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, died.
Term fees at Lambrook vary by grade, with Lewis’s tuition fees in 2022 estimated to be approximately £13,167, Charlotte’s £19,344 and George’s approximately £20,997, bringing the family’s education bill that year to approximately £53,508.
After the 2025-26 academic year, William and Catherine will be left with only two children in Lambrook. Charlotte and Louis will remain at the school, while George will leave for boarding school at Eton in September.
