The model and mental health advocate died of an overdose on Sunday, September 20, just one day after checking into a sober home by Resolution Living in Santa Monica, California.
In the days that followed, reports emerged that Presley had admitted to being under the influence. Since this was a sober living facility and not a detox rehab, this obviously should have been a red flag. It is reportedly a standard rule among sober living centers to deny entry to anyone who is currently intoxicated.
The admissions officer who allegedly approved their check-in was not only fired, but it was revealed that Resolution Living was later investigated by the California Department of Health Care Services.
According to the complaint filed by a corrections attorney, “A 27-year-old man came to this environment looking for help and died the next morning. Whatever the ultimate cause of death, the circumstances demand a thorough regulatory investigation of the facility”.

on thursday, page six Received review results. DHCS looked into two investigations:
“Was a person allegedly under the influence of intoxicants admitted to a sober living residence that was not authorized to provide the level of care he needed, and was Resolution Living actually providing regulated addiction treatment, detoxification, clinical monitoring, or recovery services beyond the lawful scope of the sober living residence?”
According to the outlet, DCHS found the complaints to be “not substantiated.” His statement reads in part:
“That review is now complete, and DHCS has not identified any activities that would constitute unlicensed substance use disorder treatment or otherwise require licensure. Thus, no violations were found, and the case is now closed.”

cindy wrote Instagram: :
“We are so heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother. We feel so lucky to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years. He is a sweet, beautiful soul, who is loved now and forever. We are so proud of how he came into the world with kindness and vulnerability. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support we have received from so many people who know and love our family, and even from strangers who feel our pain. Until we meet our sweet boy again.”
And Kaia’s tribute was even more heartbreaking, revealing her entire soul:
“I’ve read all the books and I don’t have any answers. My expression is no match for this, the horror of losing you.
I am, literally, on my F[**]King knees.
You know how much I loved being your sister. It has always been and always will be my favorite thing about me. I came into this world with a white knuckle grip around you. I had more love for you than I knew what to do with. And now that its going nowhere is clear, I’m sure it will swallow me whole.
You believed in people – always believed. You faced cruelty not with anger, but with confusion. And curiosity.
You believed that people were naturally good because, Presley, you are naturally good.
And somehow, through it all, I got the chance to be your sister, your lucky eternal witness, who got to watch you do the most hardcore, heavy metal thing anyone could do: you remained soft.
