Michael Douglas hopes his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, will be “much wiser” when she finishes reading her new memoir.
“She was a little girl on that part,” the 82-year-old “Wall Street” star told Page Six in an exclusive interview on Wednesday, referring to a period of his life when he was involved with other women.
Douglas revealed that Zeta-Jones, 57, has not yet finished reading “One Helluva Ride.”
Douglas explained, “She’s in the middle of it right now. She just came back. She was doing the third season of ‘Wednesday.’
However, the Oscar winner said he’s already “talked to her about it.”
Douglas, who has been married to Zeta-Jones since November 2000, insisted he has “no regrets” about being so candid in the book.
“I’m glad I found it there,” he told us.
The actor doesn’t shy away from discussing his colorful past in the memoir, including his affairs with Kathleen Turner during the filming of “Romancing the Stone” and Jean Tripplehorn during “Basic Instinct.”
He also opened up about his struggles with cocaine and alcohol, which led to him going to rehab, as well as his son Cameron’s struggles with addiction, which resulted in a seven-year prison sentence.
Douglas told Page Six that cocaine use was “rampant” in Hollywood during the ’70s and ’80s.
“I didn’t have to do that [include it],” he said of his own drug use, ”but I was just sharing my experience.”
She described this revelation as her “little cautionary tale”, adding, “Having a little bit of age behind me and looking back I realized that it really was a ridiculous drug and it got a lot of people off it, including my son and many others.”
Despite the erotic revelations, Douglas had nothing but praise for Zeta-Jones, whom he called his “soulmate”.
“We’re in our 26th year together and I enjoy his company very much,” he said. “He’s very talented and funny.”
“She’s a good woman, a good woman,” said the “Fatal Attraction” star, who shares son Dylan, 26, and daughter Carys, 23, with Zeta-Jones.
