A married female celebrity having an affair with a married sports star was revealed after her device was hacked by a cyberstalker and released online, reports claim.
An unnamed female celebrity’s affair with a married sportsperson has been revealed after intimate photos of the couple were leaked online. Although their identities have not been revealed, it is being said that the couple is married and the woman is British.
According to reports, his email and social media accounts were hacked by a cyberstalker.
It is said that Creep made an error and accidentally stored the messages online, meaning the evidence from the case was online for everyone to access.
Cybersecurity expert Jeremiah Fowler says he found evidence of the intimate relationship, which had been circulating online for two weeks by this time.
According to the Sun on Sunday, the stolen information included images and messages on WhatsApp, Instagram and TikTok, as well as invoices and receipts.
Despite having it under his belt, Jeremiah has maintained silence on the identity of the female celebrity. In an interview with The Sun on Sunday, he said, “They were both married. The kind of data that was there would be very damaging. It was clear that a prominent public figure was having an affair.”
He added, “This information about the case never came to the media, but since the files were exposed for such a long period of time, it is very possible that someone else may have accessed them and released them at a later date or attempted to use them for some form of extortion.”
Jeremiah claims he reported his findings to the police and that the victim was also informed about the data stolen by the cyberstalker. But he told the publication he was not sure whether she had even contacted the police.
It is believed that the stalker used a tool called Cocospy to gain access to information on the celebrity’s mobile. This then enabled the stalker to track them on their devices without Star being informed of this widespread intrusion.
According to the publication, the spyware had a “stealth mode”, which could also take screenshots from the device.
Technology magazine Wired claimed that Cocospy was originally an app for “parental controls, tracking, and remote monitoring”.
It reportedly asked users to use it remotely and “100 percent discreetly” and added a disclaimer saying “for legal use only.” According to Mr Fowler, it is also believed that the female celebrity may know the identity of the person who installed the spyware on her device and handled the matter within her circle.
Soon after he said that after finding her number among the stolen information, he contacted her directly on WhatsApp.
She claimed that he tried to reassure her that he was only telling her that she was the victim of a crime and that he had no plans to reveal her identity or the identity of the male player.
