Talk about a rude awakening!

The 61-year-old actress reunites with her on-screen husband evan handler on his podcast Are you Charlotte?Where the former co-stars opened up about their experiences with body image and the public scrutiny that came with starring in the hit. hbo series decades ago.

Kristin became aware of her eating habits during the first season of the show, which revealed that her approach to food was far from healthy. Recalling one particularly hot summer, she admitted:
“There was a time earlier in the show when you could see my ribs – like I was dieting. It was after the season, and it was one of those hot summers, and I just remember I just ate M&Ms. I just ate M&M’s for a few weeks. I don’t know why I lost my mind or anything, and like I don’t have any breasts left, like it’s just bones.
she explains:
“What I mean is I wasn’t eating any real food.”
Oh!
Davis explained that he got the idea from ballet dancers, whom he believed survived on cigarettes and candy bars. He recalled:
“It wasn’t healthy. And I went to this acupuncturist once. He said, ‘Don’t put it in your mouth.’ And I was like, ‘Why not?’ I eat all this.’ Because I read that ballet dancers smoke cigarettes and eat candy bars. So I was like, ‘Okay, if they can do it, I can do it.’ But I was not smoking cigarettes.”
The star also felt like a costume designer Patricia Field Struggled with her curves during the era when straight silhouettes were fashionable. As Kristin said:
“…[Field] I was very disappointed with my curves because at the time when we started in 1998 or whatever it was, 1997, you know, everything was straight. I’ve never been straight, nothing, no dieting.”
But this is where things get really uncomfortable!

Handler, 65, who joined the series in 2002 as Charlotte’s divorce attorney before becoming his girlfriend and second husband, remembered fans coming up to him on the street in New York City to say:
“You look so fat on the show.”
Excuse us?! Who says that?!
Unfortunately, Kristin revealed that she’s heard the same thing for years:
“They used to say the same thing to me. Ivan, they kept saying the same thing to me for years and years. But yes, I went through it for a long time too. Yes, it’s very difficult.”
Oops!!
Being a beloved TV star shouldn’t mean that you have to endure strangers commenting on your body. Some fans really need to learn manners!!!
