Kelly Clarkson calls New York store a liar after Pretty Woman claim

Kelly Clarkson responds to New York store’s denial that it received the item beautiful woman Treats while shopping in their store.

On Saturday, Clarkson posted: “Just drove to Brooklyn to check out this store, thought it looked really cool and had a few things in mind to buy and actually looked as if I couldn’t buy it and told me he could find something comparable for me. Wow, dude. You’re an idiot and just missed a huge sale. But if you enjoy being treated like a Julia Roberts character then you should Art of Play in Brooklyn is worth checking out. beautiful woman. Definitely, check it out 👎”

According to its website, Brooklyn-based Art of Play sells home goods, puzzles, games, toys and books and also has a 26-seat theater that hosts magicians’ performances. On Sunday, Art of Play responded on its social media by denying Clarkson’s incidents.

“Yesterday, Kelly Clarkson visited us in Brooklyn and inquired about purchasing ‘Molly,’ a unique singing and dancing bird automaton who plays a key role in the magic shows we host here,” the post reads. “Molly is permanently attached to the wall and is not for sale. However, the negative experience Kelly described on Twitter will resonate with anyone who has ever experienced being judged in a shop.

“Whether someone comes to Art of Play to shop or just look around for a while, they are equally welcome. We welcome everyone who walks in the door with an invitation to ‘pick things up and play.’ And they do, many staying for hours enjoying our puzzles, games and toys.

“Imagine our surprise when our small local business was suddenly attacked by 8 million people who had never visited our store. To be the center of such widespread outrage after just one mention by a celebrity is a surreal experience.

“Thank you to all of our friends for their support and welcome to all the curious people who sought us out amid the drama. We’ll keep our heads down and hopefully we can clear things up with Kelly someday. As a talented popular singer once said ‘What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.'”

Of course, that last line is a lyric from the chorus of Clarkson’s 2011 hit song “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You).”

However, Clarkson responded on Sunday, in which she accused Art of Play of not sharing her accurate version of what happened.

He wrote, “Great, great. Of course, it wasn’t for sale.” “That’s the narrative The Art of Play is supposed to go along with 👍 So we had an entire conversation when I asked you if it was for sale, while pointing to the price tag hanging on the wall with the title Singing Bird. It didn’t because you looked at me from the elevator and said in a condescending tone ‘Yes, it’s for sale but it cost $15,000, so if you want me to find something comparable for you I can do that.’ All that never happened and it is no longer for sale. Okay, great. So you are not only rude, but also a liar. Got it ✅

“And by the way, I obviously support small businesses because I was literally in a small business trying to buy things. I love small businesses and know they’re important and I always support them, but you don’t get to treat people less than your store just because you’re a small business. It’s not that hard to be kind. I never blame people but you my friend were an exception.

“Your store is really nice.

“Unfortunately, you are not.”

In her response, Clarkson reposted the image, which showed a $15,000 price tag next to the item, with someone captioning: “Molly is not for sale, yet has a $15,000 price tag on her. Kelly Clarkson you will always be a real person.”

After this story was published, a reader of hollywood reporter Emailed to point out that the store has been referring to this particular item as its mascot for quite some time.

Clarkson, who returns as a coach for NBC’s 30th season sound, recently ended its eponymous talk show after seven seasons.
