Jessica Lange: FX Was Too Cheap To Pay For Cars House From ‘AHS Set’

Jessica Lange shaded FX’s “American Horror Story” network during a panel at PaleyFest (via) Entertainment Weekly) in which he recalled driving himself home from the set of the anthology series during production on the previous season. The Oscar and Emmy-winning icon is currently starring in “AHS 13,” marking her first appearance on the show since 2018’s “AHS: Apocalypse.”

“We had to drive ourselves,” Lange said during a panel discussion with franchise co-star Sarah Paulson. “We would drive ourselves home at 4 or 5 in the morning, park on a street in the French Quarter, and find our way home.”

Lange said it was “still a point of contention for her” as Paulson laughed in approval next to her. The actor, who filmed the show’s third season of “Coven” in New Orleans, said it was “too cheap” for FX to provide cars or drivers for the stars at the time.

During the show’s first four seasons, Lange helped “American Horror Story” become one of TV’s most talked-about shows. She headlined the roles of Constance Langdon in Season 1, Sister Jude Martin in Season 2, Cordelia Goode in Season 3, and Elsa Mars in Season 4, all of whom she plays again in “AHS: 13.” Lange won Emmys for her roles in the show’s first and third seasons.

Lange told “Good Morning America” before the start of the new season that she returned after a year-long hiatus from the franchise because of the chance to play back old characters, explaining: “It was really the idea to bring those four characters back — and a mystery character that I’m not going to do.” [spoil]”
