© GettyMcCarthy revealed that while they were dating she attended Cruise and Holmes’ wedding in Italy in 2006 jim carrey. She said she sat near the couple and other high-profile guests during the festivities, which she recalled as an unusual experience.
“I went to Tom and Katie’s wedding,” McCarthy told her guest, who appeared surprised by the revelation.
© James Deveney/WireImageThe actress said she eventually saw someone bringing the couple’s daughter, Suri, to Holmes. McCarthy said that being a self-described baby person she approached the actress and asked if she could hold her.
“Can I hold the baby?” he remembered asking. According to McCarthy, the reaction from the room was immediate. “The whole party went like this,” he said, causing everyone to fall silent.
© AFPMcCarthy said that Holmes eventually handed her the baby, but the atmosphere made her feel as if she had stepped into an unfamiliar world. “I literally walked like this. I walked around the room, and I was like, and she, Katie, slowly passed by the baby, and I was just, ‘Hi, baby,'” McCarthy recalled.
He said that the room became normal only after the child was given back. “And then once I gave her the baby back, it seemed like everyone went back to their conversations,” she said.
© WireImageLooking back, McCarthy described that moment as an introduction to the tightly controlled environment associated with Scientology. “Well, I’m in the belly of the beast right now,” he remembered.
The anecdote came when Gallard Hill discussed his experiences as a member of Scientology’s Marine Organization, an elite group within the church.
During the conversation, they described strict schedules, limited contact with family, and a culture in which members could face consequences if they questioned the leadership.

© GettyMeanwhile, McCarthy shared that he encountered Scientology through Cruise and Holmes’ wedding and other interactions with people associated with the organization. She recalled attending the rehearsal dinner and sitting near the couple and their inner circle.
The wedding took place in Italy in November 2006, several months after the birth of Suri, Cruise and Holmes’ daughter. The couple divorced in 2012, and Holmes largely kept her daughter out of the public eye. Suri has since dropped his “Cruz” alias.
