Today cohost dylan dreyer shared a new update on his divorce from ex Brian Fichera.
“As you know, I’m recently divorced, so my mom has been living with me for several months,” Dreyer, 45, began her episode on Thursday, October 15. “Parent Chat” Podcastconsidering mother LindaSupport after her breakup. “Over the last several months she’s been with me we’ve figured out this dance of what I do versus what she does, and it’s become much easier for me to be patient and handle their wildness when the boys come home for school for the first time.”
Dreyer and Fichera, 39, were Married from 2012 to 2025 When they separated after two decades of marriage. TV meteorologist, who has three sons with Fichera, filed for divorce in march.
While Dreyer and Fichera worked out a co-parenting arrangement, it certainly helped to have her mom around to help.

“My mom likes to hand out lunch boxes [when they kids get home]And she washes them and she cleans them all, which is great,” Dreyer said. “When she’s not there and there’s no one else to do the dirty, really, it’s just another thing I have to do. This way, I can focus on the kids and she can focus on the mess. It’s like that little dance we do in the kitchen and it works so well.”
Dreyer said his mother has “quite a bit.” [stuck] Her home rules, which are different from her own upbringing.
“It’s very different because my mom didn’t raise us the same way,” Dreyer admitted on Thursday’s episode. “There were a lot of rules in my house, no messing around at dinner. Like, you did what your parents told you to do, and if not, there were punishments for that.”

She added, “I recognize that all of our situations are different, and I’m fortunate that my mother is retired and she can live with me and, for a while, come back home and give up her life.”
Linda, for her part, has felt that helping Dreyer’s three sons detracts from her parenting experience.
“I can say that having all three of them so close together is not a task but a challenge,” she said on Dreyer’s podcast. “You have two, it doesn’t matter which two, [and then] You throw a third into the mix. it [be] Lots of chaos. … You never know, because one plays off the other, one provokes more than the other, one speaks louder than the other, so they’re all competing against each other. It’s not for my attention. It’s just because that’s who they are, that’s what kids do.”
