‘Dracula: The Crimson Code’ reveals cast

Amanda Jiang, Joey Phillips (“Outlander”), Richard Breck (“Game of Thrones,” “The Mandalorian,” “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” “Barbarian”) and Shayne Ward (“The Good Ship Murder,” “Coronation Street”) will lead the cast of the Gothic romance and supernatural thriller “Dracula: The Crimson Code,” which has begun shooting.

The contemporary female-led Dracula reimagining is directed by Andrea M. Catinella and written by Enrico Tesarin. The film is set in contemporary London and the English countryside.

Jiang plays Countess Isolde Dragomir, a centuries-old vampire aristocrat at the center of London’s most exclusive social circles. Hidden within their glamorous Crimson Code soirees is an ancient conflict between two vampire clans – the Dragomirs and the Howses – and an age-old desire for revenge against the man who murdered the great love of her life.

When Isolde kills her old enemy’s son, she pulls him back into her world. But her plans are disrupted by the arrival of Theo Mercer, a man whom she recognizes as the reincarnation of the lover she lost centuries ago.

However, Theo is not Adrian’s only comeback. He is his own man – forcing Isolde to confront whether she can finally let go of the past.

The film is produced by Tessarin, Jiang, Catinella and Carla Fuschillo for Starmist Films, whose first feature film, “City of Masks,” will have its world premiere in London on October 29.

Jiang said in a statement, “I’ve always been drawn to the Gothic atmosphere, its theatricality, and the way those worlds can create a sense of mystery, danger, and desire. That was very much part of what inspired ‘City of Masks,’ and it’s something I wanted to explore even more with ‘The Crimson Code.'”

“With ‘Dracula,’ we have the opportunity to take that love of Gothic storytelling into a much larger world. Isolde is powerful, dangerous, and extremely vulnerable, and at the center of the film is a story about love, revenge, and the possibility of choosing a different future.”
