Denise Richards has vowed never to marry again after two troubled marriages and announced she has had enough of marriages and legal commitments as she continues her bitter divorce battle with estranged husband Aaron Phyppers.
The 55-year-old actress and former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star made the announcement during an appearance on Jenny McCarthy’s podcast this week, discussing her ongoing legal dispute with Aaron, 54, who filed for divorce in July 2025.
Denise, who was previously married to Two and a Half Men actor Charlie Sheen, 61, said her experiences had convinced her to leave the marriage permanently, although she remained open to finding another romantic partner.
Asked if she would consider walking down the aisle for a third time, Denise said: “Would I ever get married again? Absolutely not.”
She added: “I don’t want that piece of paper.”
The Wild Things actress also reflected on the breakdown of her relationship with Aaron, whom she married in 2018, claiming that as their divorce proceedings unfolded, she began to view their marriage in a very different way.
She said: “What I had to understand and learn is that to him I was a product and it was a business arrangement, it wasn’t a marriage. So that part, I can’t do again.”
His comments came as the former couple continued to fight over issues arising from their separation, including allegations of domestic abuse and court proceedings in Los Angeles.
Denise has accused Aaron of physically abusing her during their relationship, allegations he denies.
In November 2025, the actress was granted a five-year restraining order against her estranged husband following proceedings in Los Angeles Superior Court.
During her testimony, Dennis described several alleged incidents of violence and claimed that she suffered “at least three injuries” as a result of Aaron’s actions.
Aaron, the former owner of the wellness center, has denied the allegations against him.
The former couple have also been involved in financial disputes, with Aaron ordered to pay Denise more than $25,000 in September.
Reflecting on the failure of both his marriages, Dennis joked: “I’m 0 for 2.”
The actress said that despite her determination to never marry again, she has not given up the possibility of another relationship.
She said: “I will have a partner, and I want to fall in love again, so I don’t want to be bitter….”
Denise also admitted that she wanted to move on from the anger she felt towards Aaron, saying that she hoped he would eventually “let go” of her “hate” because she did not believe it was “healthy”.
However, he suggested that the public remained unaware of the many difficulties they experienced during the marriage, referring to the “***” that took place behind closed doors.
Her latest comments come after years of public attention on her personal relationships, starting with her marriage to Charlie, with whom she has two daughters, Sami Sheen, 22, and Lola Sheen, 21.
Denise married the Platoon and Wall Street actor in 2002, but their relationship deteriorated amid struggles with Charlie’s substance abuse and increasingly erratic behavior.
When Lola became pregnant, he filed for divorce and their separation was finalized in 2006.
The actress later described the marriage as “very toxic”, reflecting the difficulties she faced while raising her young children.
