It has been one of the most eagerly awaited comebacks to television and now Celebrity Traitors is back for a second series with 21 stars hoping to follow in Alan Carr’s footsteps and win.

The battle of Traitors vs Faithfuls has proved a favorite with viewers and a number of celebrities are reportedly keen to sign up to the BBC game show hosted by Claudia Winkleman.

This time around attendees include a host of comedians from Michael Sheen, Richard E Grant and Bella Ramsey, singers James Blunt and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, soap favorites Ross Kemp and Julie Hesmondhalgh and Miranda Hart and Romesh Ranganathan to Joe Lycett and James Acaster.

These also include broadcaster and mathematician Professor Hannah Fry. The 42-year-old is known for making big ideas accessible, from terrifying science to the secret genius of modern life. After signing up for The Celebrity Traitors, Faithfull described herself as “toxicly competitive”.

Hannah was married to Phil Lithall and had two daughters, but they divorced in 2022. She has a cordial relationship with her ex-husband, telling The Times: “There have been very few hiccups, but we’ve basically had a Grade A, gold-star divorce, if such a thing is possible.”

As reported by Grazia, Hannah met her new partner Olly on the dating app Hinge. She matched with Olly on a new profile on the app, after her original profile was banned for ‘impersonating herself’.

She said: “To put it this way, I wasn’t finding men as good as Ollie before the ban came in, and I met him almost immediately after. I mean, correlation isn’t causation, except sometimes it happens!”

cure cancer

When Hannah was diagnosed with cervical cancer following a routine smear test five years ago, she had to undergo a hysterectomy. She was only 36 years old at the time, and as a precaution, several of her lymph nodes were also removed in case it turned out to be cancer, reports Grazia.

This resulted in her developing lymphedema – a chronic condition that causes swelling in the organs – which Hannah had to undergo further surgery to manage. She shared her experience in the BBC documentary, Making Sense of Cancer with Hannah Fry, which included footage of her receiving her results and eventually getting the all clear.

What has Hannah said about celebrity traitors?

Ahead of her appearance on the show, Hannah described it as “one of the most important, amazing experiences of my life”, reports The Scottish Farmer.

Hannah added: “What an experience it is to be in this beautiful castle, with incredible surroundings and some of the biggest names in the entire country, playing a game that an entire team has spent months planning and preparing for, all the while involving strategy and trickery. I mean – amazing!”

She said of her mathematics background: “Have I looked back at the data from all the previous games and tried to find statistically significant patterns? Yes! Will any of that help me? Honestly, who knows?”
