La Roach is ready for a parity Big close up.
The celebrity stylist, whose clients include Zendaya, Kim Kardashian and Celine Dion, says she’s “absolutely” ready to try some acting.
“When a director sees something in me,” Roach told me at the InStyle Imagemaker Awards on Thursday night. “I want to try everything. If I’m bad at it, at least I tried.”
He’s certainly worked with enough A-list actors to have some guidance, no? Roach said, “I’ve also worked with some of the greatest singers of all time, but that doesn’t mean I won’t try to sing.”
Roach has played herself in “The Devil Wears Prada 2” and Kate Hudson in the Netflix sitcom “Running Point.” She has also served as a reality television judge on “Legendary,” “America’s Next Top Model,” “Project Runway” and “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

Also on the carpet, fellow ImageMaker honoree (and occasional Roach client) Priyanka Chopra Jonas talked about reuniting with her “Baywatch” co-star Zac Efron for “Judgment Day,” the upcoming Nicholas Stoller Amazon MGM Studios comedy that also stars Will Ferrell, Regina Hall and Fortune Feimster.
Jonas said, “I had a lot of fun. I went there to learn and had a great time.” “I’m just sitting there and looking at everyone.”
Efron plays a recently released prison inmate who takes a TV courtroom judge and his television cast and crew hostage. The cast also includes Michael Pena, Billy Eichner, Jimmy Tatro, Heidi Gardner, Bobby Cannavale and Bill Camp.
Was Jonas breaking down all the time? “No, no, I’m a professional,” she quipped. “Maybe twice. Once with Will, definitely and once with Regina. She said something and I just did it. Fortune also said something and I was working really hard… I’m a girl who comes from drama, so to be surrounded by all these amazing comedians and actors who are so comfortable in comedy, it was great to see.”
