As you may recall, in December 2024, Barry Keoghan and Sabrina Carpenter split after a year of dating, sparking rumors that Keoghan had cheated on her. Well, he would like you to know that these rumors are not true.

in a presence at friends keep secrets podcast, Keoghan told hosts Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky and Kristin Bataluco that he was “avoiding stuff.” “I’ve stepped away from Instagram and social profiles. I’ve stopped going to events. You know, I’ve just stopped socializing,” he said. He said he withdrew “because of a story that is not true.” When Lil Dicky asked for more clarity, Keoghan confirmed that the “statement” he was talking about was that “I cheated.” “I never confirmed it or said anything about it,” he said. “And, you know, I disappeared.” Keoghan did not mention Carpenter by name in the interview, saying he “didn’t want to involve anyone else in this.” “But unfortunately, once a relationship is in the public eye… it’s called out,” she said.

Keoghan appears to be describing rumors about herself and influencer Breckie Hill, who reposted a TikTok identifying her as the other woman following Keoghan’s breakup with Carpenter. Maybe Hill was just trolling — a few days after reposting the video, she posted a tiktok Denying that she had ever met Keoghan and claiming she shared the video “only because I thought it was so funny” – but speculation continued about what happened between Keoghan and Carpenter.

Although she did not mention Hill by name, Keoghan shared her disappointment that people paid more attention to her repost than to her denial of the rumors a few days later. “A girl made a video, and then the girl actually made a video and said, ‘Sorry for making this,'” Keoghan said. “But it seemed like no one had caught on He Video.”

Keoghan said he wasn’t saying all this out of “pity.” He said, “I am not saying that people should become my fans and like me, because that is also not a normal thing.” “I’m urging people to stop thinking that way, as well as to stop jumping on this narrative and attacking me and dragging me down in any way.”
