She impressed viewers with her ability to lie, backstab and scheme on The Celebrity Traitors. And now Maya Jama has committed one final act of betrayal to her loyal castmates, after failing to appear at a special recording of Celebrity Traitors Uncloaked last night.
Maya, 32, was cast as the traitor on the show by Claudia Winkleman during the first episode, but despite a stellar performance as she reached the finals, she didn’t get to celebrate.
Following last night’s finale, in which Romesh Ranganathan, 48, and Sebastian Croft, 24, were crowned winners, the cast reunited with host Ed Gamble for the final special of Uncloaked.
But Maya was conspicuously absent, with Ed telling viewers she was ‘away from filming’ and ‘apologies.’
Maya is currently filming series three of The Gentlemen, but she may also be absent due to her busy Halloween schedule – she is believed to be finalizing plans for her annual party tonight, which is always attended by celebrity royalty.
She had a brief role in series two, which was the beginning of her scripted acting career, but Netflix bosses were so impressed with her that they invited her back for a longer run.
In the palace, the Love Island host had managed to stay under the radar with fellow recruit Kenny, 29, until Thursday’s episode, in which third recruit James Acaster was voted off after revealing his identity as a traitor.
The shocking move came after 41-year-old James, who did not want to be considered a traitor, became concerned in an off-screen moment which led to the shooting of the film being halted.
James also wasn’t on last night’s Uncloaked.
Maya Jama made it through to the final of Celebrity Traitors last night, but she wasn’t in the special recording of Uncloaked, which saw the rest of the cast reunite
Faithfuls Romesh Ranganathan, 48, and Sebastian Croft, 24, were crowned winners and handed out £83,000 after a thrilling final.
The duo then joined the host and celebrity finalists outside the picturesque Ardross Castle, where they raised a glass around the firepit
Maya Jama, James Blunt, King Kenny, Romesh Ranganathan, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Sebastian Croft were the six finalists.
Following their eviction, the remaining loyalists took out their anger on other previously suspected celebrities, and ultimately voted out both Maya and Kenny during last night’s episode.
Only Romesh and Sebastian are left in a series of roundtables, known as the Bash, which raised £41,500 for their chosen charities – the Refugee Council and Choose Love respectively.
The episode was watched by a maximum of 11.6 million viewers.
Immediately after their win aired, the Uncloaked episode began, in which the cast and Claudia were reunited outside the castle.
As the conversation turned to Maya, Ed said: ‘The OG traitor Maya has been out filming and apologizes, she can’t be here tonight.’
Her absence came just a day before she hosted her famous Halloween party, which has previously attracted the best of British showbiz and Maya wears an elaborate costume every year.
And this year’s Celebrity Traitors contestants will definitely be among the lucky guests.
King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Hannah Fry are among those set to take part. Some artists, including comedian Joan McNally, who is currently on tour in the US, will not be able to attend.
Maya shared clips of past parties on Instagram throughout the night, including 2024 when she dressed up as Beetlejuice.
This year will be the seventh time Maya has hosted the party, in previous iterations she partnered with major global brands including Nando’s and Gordon’s Gin.
In 2025, the likes of Naomi Campbell, Gene and Lennon Gallagher, Paloma Faith and Emily Atack have all hit the venue.

Last year Maya reinvented herself as a sexy pirate – and fans are curious to know what she – and the rest of the cast of Celebrity Traitors – have decided to choose tonight.
Maya has made no mention of last night’s finale on her social media, and there have been signs of tension behind the scenes, especially after she cracked under the pressure of fellow traitor James.
But there was nothing but celebration for the winners. During the final, Sebastian and Romesh hug each other and host Claudia congratulates them on their victory.
‘I trusted Bash and I was right. I can not believe it! “I really hope my mom would be proud,” the comedian said.
In his exit interview Romesh said: ‘I think my biggest highlight is making a friend in Bash – relying on the fact that I thought he was a friend in that last game and it paying off, that’s something I feel really good about.
Sebastian burst into tears and said: ‘It was unbelievable. This really could be the best day of my life.’
Adding what was the highlight of his experience, the actor shared: ‘It was that moment when Rome said the word Faithful, and the embrace we had was absolutely wild, it was crazy.’
The two then joined the host and celebrity finalists outside the picturesque Ardross Castle, where they raised a glass around the firepit.
There are likely to be many more glasses raised as the cast reunite for festive fun tonight.
