Darren Criss’s one-night-only concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall became a “Glee” reunion when the singer surprised the audience by bringing out Chris Colfer and performing “Baby It’s Cold Outside” as a tribute to his characters from the hit show, Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson.
Chris began the song alone, telling the audience that he would sing both parts, even though “it’s not supposed to be like that, but I’ve managed to pull off a lot of stuff,” he said, before Colfer joined him after a few verses. Before beginning the song, Colfer joked, “The only unfair thing about doing this song is doing it without me.”
Chris and Colfer first performed the song during Season 2 Episode 10, titled “A Very Glee Christmas”, which aired in 2010. Their characters were fan favorites, starting dating in Season 2 before getting engaged and married in the final season.
Last month, after long-running rumors of a possible “Glee” reboot, creator Ryan Murphy officially weighed in and revealed that there is a script. Murphy explained, “Well, that’s weird of you asking, ’cause I just finished the script an hour ago.” entertainment tonight. “So, we have a script. Brad.” [Falchuk]Ian [Brennan] And I, who wrote the first two seasons, have written something. I am in touch with about 10 of the original artists. It’s so lovely, and they all had a lot of questions, but they were all very excited about the idea.
Murphy said that although there is a script, “no one has read it.” “So I don’t know, we’ll see,” he added. “I swore to myself I wanted to write some of them to see what people thought, especially the artists, because we were so close when we were making it.”
“Glee” first premiered in September 2009, and stars, in addition to Mitchell, Colfer, and Chris, Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera, Dianna Agron, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Heather Morris, and others.
