I have to admit, when scrubs I was really disappointed when the revival revealed that JD and Elliot are divorced. Although now that I’m following the second season on the 2026 TV schedule, I see a fun part about the couple’s split: seeing them in re-dating scenarios. Last week, Scott Foley came back scrubsAnd it was lovely to see the sparks flying between them again. As a new romance blossoms between the former partners, I just found out how it all came together. As told by Foley TV Insider: :
I was so thrilled that they were able to make it happen. They contacted me last year, and I was busy and not able to do it. I felt like I had missed the opportunity to get back with the people I enjoy working with so much. So, when he arrived this time, we were able to work out the dates.

I was so thrilled to be back in the mix. The fact that it’s been 20 years or however long since we last saw Shawn, and he’s still doing the same thing, albeit in a different location and no longer at SeaWorld… I love it.
In the episode, JD meets Shawn and decides to set up his ex-girlfriend with her former flame, which I found quite sweet. JD is dating Rachel Bilson’s Charlie and he wants his ex-wife to be happy too. I mean, how cute is that? While Elliot initially refuses to confess his feelings to Shawn, I’m so glad he changes his mind and they share a kiss at the aquarium.
This week’s episode didn’t see the return of Scott Foley’s character, but I don’t doubt he’ll be back. What seems to be changing this season Cast to focus on each episode. It was nice to focus on Elliot’s career in medicine before her character goes into full romance mode with Shawn. Oh, and it was fun to see Neil Flynn’s Janitor back in the mix this week after his return at the beginning of last season.
