Robert Wagner posted a rare photo with the late Natalie Wood’s eldest daughter, Natasha, who looks exactly like the iconic actress.
The 96-year-old “Austin Powers” star posted this photo on Instagram in honor of Natasha’s 56th birthday on September 29. Natasha, wearing a brunette bob with bangs, smiled at the camera while sitting next to Wagner at a restaurant.
Dressed in a black suit jacket with a black shirt underneath, the legendary actor also smiled.
“Please join me in wishing a happy birthday to my wonderful daughter Natasha,” he has written. “Jill [Wagner’s wife] And I am so proud of the woman you bring into our lives and the joy, laughter, and love she brings. We love you and wish you a very happy birthday.”
Wood welcomed Natasha with her former husband, British producer Richard Gregson, in 1970, and Wagner later legally adopted her.
Wagner and Wood first married in 1957, but divorced in 1962, then got back together and remarried in 1972.
The couple have daughter Courtney, 52, and Wagner is also father to daughter Katie, 62, from his second marriage to actress Marion Marshall.
After Wood’s death in 1981, he married actress Jill St. John in 1990.
Wood tragically died at the age of 43 when she drowned while spending time with Wagner and actor Christopher Walken on Wagner’s yacht.
The “West Side Story” star’s death was initially ruled an accident, but his death certificate was amended in 2012 change the cause of his death From drowning to “drowning and other undetermined factors”.
Detective Ralph Hernandez declared Wagner a person of interest in 2018 after interviewing witnesses who claimed the actress was arguing with her husband on the side of a boat before she disappeared.
But in May 2022, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department exonerated the actor in a reopened investigation into Wood’s death.
“All leads have been exhausted in the Natalie Wood case, and the case remains an open, unsolved case,” Lt. Hugo Renaga told Page Six at the time.
“If additional leads come forward in the future that have not already been investigated, the case will be reassigned to a detective to investigate the new leads,” their statement continued.
Wood’s sister Lana Wood told The Post in 2021 that she always believed Wagner was responsible For Wood’s death.
“I don’t believe it was premeditated,” Lana said. “But that doesn’t mean I don’t think he did it. Of course he did!”
Natasha was just 11 years old when her mother died, but she told the daily mail Last month she revealed that she had the support of both her biological father and stepfather during the crisis.
‘Luckily I had these two guys, Daddy Gregson and Daddy Wagner, who came together and took advantage of the opportunity and completely put me in first place,’ she reflected.
She added, “They got me into therapy right away and I had the same amazing therapist in Beverly Hills until I was 20.”
