Halloween couples’ costumes through the years: Heidi Klum and more stars

Couples costumes are always a fan favorite on Halloween, and even more so when it’s a celebrity couple.

Heidi Klum and her husband appear unrecognizable in head-to-toe prosthetics on the red carpet every year, while Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. have referenced the iconic ’80s movies in the past.

Here are the best Halloween costumes for couples over the years.

Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz

The official Queen of Halloween always goes all out for her annual Halloween party, and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, plays along with her every year.

At their party in 2025, the pair looked unrecognizable as they posed for photos on the red carpet. Klum was dressed like the Greek mythological character, Medusa, while Kaulitz was dressed like a warrior she had turned to stone.

The costume included a full green prosthetic bodysuit with scales and a tail on its back, fake teeth and a crown of snakes on top of its head, which actually moved.

“I love that when I go on the red carpet, people see it for the first time and think whatever they want to think,” she told Fox News Digital in 2024.

In 2024, Klum and Kaulitz arrive at the annual Halloween party dressed as different versions of E.T. from the 80s hit film “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial”.

Kaulitz dressed as a more traditional version of E.T., while Klum dressed as the version of the character she tried to hide when the children were in the film, wearing a black hat, blonde wig, and red shawl.

“As a 9-year-old girl in Germany, ET introduced me to the idea that there is life outside the planet Earth,” she said on Instagram. “I know ET wanted to go home, but I hope that if the movie gets made in 2024, my favorite extra-terrestrial will come to my party.”

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco were late for a very important date as they headed to Wonderland for Halloween in 2024 while chasing the white rabbit down the rabbit hole.

The couple dressed as Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter, with Gomez wearing a whimsical blue dress with white socks and a blonde wig. Blanco wore a brown jacket and black pants with a multicolored undershirt, along with a large hat and orange wig as he got into his character with white face makeup.

Gomez captioned it, “Curious and curious..” Instagram post.

Paris Hilton and Carter Reum

Paris Hilton channeled her inner Britney Spears by dressing up as the singer in her music video for “Toxic.”

The 45-year-old media personality was photographed at the Casamigos Halloween Party in 2023 in a futuristic blue flight attendant uniform, which she paired with metallic silver-heeled shoes and sunglasses.

He was smiling as Rem stood next to him, wearing an airline pilot’s uniform.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker

Kourtney Kardashian captioned an Instagram post from 2023, showing her and Travis Barker in their terrifying Halloween costumes, “I’m the hottest ghost, babe.”

This celebrity couple wore Beetlejuice and Lydia Dietz dresses to their wedding. Barker wore white makeup on her face with dark circles around the eyes, coupled with green hair and a burgundy red suit, which perfectly reflected the essence of the feeling.

Kardashian embodied her blushing bride in a red dress with a lace neckline and sleeves, and wore her hair in an intricate updo, while she posed for the photo with a serious expression and holding a bouquet of roses.

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber embraced their inner rock stars by dressing up as David Bowie and Debbie Harry at their Halloween party in 2018.

Gerber’s costume consisted of black pants and a black shirt, which she paired with a Union Jack flag coat, a red and white scarf tied around her neck, and a spiky orange mullet wig. He also painted a red lightning bolt over one of his eyes to emulate Bowie’s alter ego, Ziggy Stardust.

Crawford, on the other hand, wore a yellow T-shirt dress with flared black tights and knee-high heels, a black belt around her waist and a red handbag. She had her hair styled in a large blonde wig and wore heavy eye makeup.

One of reality TV’s most iconic characters dressed up as one of TV’s most famous icons when Lisa Rinna and her husband Harry Hamlin played Lucy and Ricky Ricardo on “I Love Lucy.”

Rinna channeled the comedy legend with a red wig, over-the-top makeup, a blue dress with white polka dots, and a white apron. She posed for photos mimicking Lucy’s classic expression, pursing her lips and holding her finger up to her mouth.

Hamlin stood next to him, wearing a suit, and he raised an eyebrow, giving the camera a serious look.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr.

After decades together, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar have some pretty iconic couple outfits.

In 2019, the couple dressed like Doc Brown and Marty McFly from the hit ’80s film, “Back to the Future.” She shared the outfit on Instagram, captioning the post, “Great Scott!!!”

The “She’s All That” star wore a white jumpsuit, yellow hazmat gloves, a messy white wig with lab goggles as she stood next to Gellar, who wore jeans, a button-up shirt with denim sleeves and a red puffer vest. To perfect the Marty McFly look, he used a skateboard.

The couple also reenacted an iconic scene from the 1987 film “Dirty Dancing,” choosing to dress as the characters Francis “Baby” Houseman and Johnny Castle.

In the photo, Gellar is wearing a cropped white button-up and capri denim shorts, as well as a curly short wig, as she crawled on her hands and knees toward Prinze, who was dressed as dance teacher Johnny Castle in black pants and a black tank top.

She captioned the post, “No one puts a baby in the corner #HappyHalloween from Baby Houseman and Johnny Castle #DirtyDancing #LoverBoy.”

Former couple Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes were hopelessly devoted to each other when they posed together at Heidi Klum’s Halloween party dressed as Danny Zucco and Sandy Olsen from the movie “Grease.”

The country singer’s take on the iconic role included tight leather pants, an off-the-shoulder black shirt, and a leather jacket, which she paired with red heels. She styled her hair in a curly, deep side part and got into character with red lipstick.

Stokes played the role of a greaser effortlessly in an all-black outfit, including a leather jacket with “T-Birds” written on the back. He had styled his hair curled in the front and also had a cigarette in his mouth.
