Bill Maher responded to Trump’s 1,318-word social post

Bill Maher has responded to President Donald Trump’s lengthy social media post where he slammed him as a “complete loser” and shared more details about their recent dinner at the White House.

during friday’s episode Real Time with Bill MaherThe comedian addressed some of the statements Trump made in the post. He began the monologue by discussing the upcoming midterms and how former President Barack Obama had caused a “big scandal” for a comment he made at a campaign rally in which he said Trump had “made the White House look like Saddam Hussein opened a cheesecake factory.”

Maher said, “And all the Republicans said was, ‘Leave the Cheesecake Factory out of this!’ Well, I mean, I should know. I just ate there. I heard it was good. What have you heard?”

The host then asked, “Now, did you see the 1,300-word tweet he sent? The longest ever. Kind of flexed.” He joked that “eating at the White House is the opposite of the Cheesecake Factory. After you leave, they review you.”

“He came at me like Kelly Clarkson in a toy store,” Maher said. “I mean, eating with Trump is like dating Taylor Swift. It’s a lot of laughs at the time, but afterward, they’re giving you a new shock.”

Maher was then handed a printed copy of Trump’s Truth Social post, and he began to “address some of the allegations”. Earlier, he said, “Look, I don’t want it to be this way. The whole purpose of these dinners was to talk, to disagree, but to listen, which he does individually, but not to hate on each other. And then I go back to my job here and then the heartache starts.”

“It starts out, ‘Let’s talk about Bill Maher, a complete and utter loser.’ You got me there. I’ll be his boss,” Maher joked, adding that “the thing that bothers me” is that “he doesn’t even pay attention to what I say,” specifically citing a line from Trump’s post where he wrote, “[Maher] “It doesn’t seem like taking away nuclear weapons from Iran was a good thing, which shows he’s not very smart.” real time Then played a series of clips demonstrating the opposite of Trump’s claim.

Maher then moved on to another segment: “Page two, he talks about how I call him constantly. I never call you, you call me. I’d be afraid to call you. You’re the president. I think you’re too busy. Well, apparently not. He’s talking about me,’ he invited himself to the White House.’ Like you can do that. ‘Sir, Bill Maher is here.’ ‘Well, he hasn’t been invited, but the law has.’

He read Trump’s words aloud that Maher is a “major pothead”. Maher’s response: “Well, I guess everything’s settled now. Boy, that explains a lot. I thought I was just happy.” (Later real time In the episode, Kid Rock, who was at the dinner, told Maher that he was “pretty high” in the White House.)

He continued reading Trump’s post, “‘Bill had wine in his hand,’ which you gave me, ‘as he was walking through the White House,’ and then – I love this – ‘Overall, I thought it was a good meeting.’

“‘I understand he’s doing his job. I never took it personally,'” a stunned Maher said. The host told his audience, “‘He’s not a nice guy, and what he says is not what he believes.’ He’s got to cater to his base, which is made up of mostly losers,’ That’s you idiots.”

Trump wrote 1,318 words true social The post on Sunday, where he criticized Maher, real time and producer Chuck LaBella. He wrote, “Let’s talk about this complete and utter loser, Bill Maher. He’s got a low-rated show on an equally low-rated HBO, which was once, long ago, a network of quality and excitement – but all that’s gone. It’s not ‘hot’ anymore! Maher’s friend and business associate, Chuck LaBella, was a friend of mine too, he worked on The Top Hit Show, The Apprentice as a ‘gofer.’ And, because of the success of that show, being number one and top-rated for several weeks, with the finale’ being one of the top shows of the year, he was automatically and immediately brought through the ranks of NBC, along with everyone else associated with that historic ‘happening.’

Trump’s post appears to have been made in response to jokes Maher made during his monologue on the October 23 episode. Maher said, “It’s a little weird how Trump keeps talking about men’s bodies, and how beautiful they are, and their jaws, and their ass, their physiques.” “I’m a little hurt. I went there for dinner last week for four hours, and not even once. Nothing.”

Maher said, “Trump has the lowest approval ratings of any midterm candidate so far. Only one percent of Republicans are mentioning him in their ads.”

The President also wrote in his post that Labella asked if he would ever come forward real timeAbout which he said that they had met for the first time last year.

“In any event, over the years, LaBella would call me constantly to say, ‘Hello’, be very nice, and tell me how much Bill Maher ‘loves’ me and respects me, and even before I became President, would constantly ask me for any kind of meeting with Maher and would I do his show?” He has written. “When I became president, I agreed to meet after the first and last meeting, but never agreed to do his show, which he wanted me to do, in a stern tone [sic] – This will not happen! When I’ve watched the show, which isn’t often, it always ends with foul play, at least regarding me, but, who cares?”

He later also claimed LaBella and Kid Rock, the latter of whom appeared on Friday night real time The episode, “I Keep Calling About Meeting Bill Maher,” led to their first dinner in March 2025. “My first reaction was, ‘Guys, this guy is an idiot,'” Trump wrote.
