Five years after the launch of Angel Studios, the Christian production company and distributor are implementing “The Angel Promise” content standards.
Co-founder and CCO Jeff Harmon explained that the initiative bans on-screen sex, nudity, the F-word and “abuse of God’s name”, in addition to expanding parental controls and allowing paid subscribers to choose which movies and television shows come to the platform.
“I think Hollywood in general lives in a bubble,” Harmon explained. fox news. “These are master craftsmen. They are the best storytellers in the world. Hollywood has created the best storytelling infrastructure in the world.
“But at the same time, they’ve become more and more distant from the values-based audience they used to serve. And at the same time, in our view, as brothers and as fathers, as a father, Hollywood is not consistently giving me what I need. Every once in a while, you get a good movie, but you have to go through all this stuff to find your good movies and your good stories.”
Harmon said Angel Studios is also giving “the audience the power of veto” through the Angel Guild, whose platform has a reported 3 million-strong membership.
Harmon said, “Our goal was to try to solve this problem of getting out of the Hollywood bubble and stepping into the shoes of Middle America.”
Founded in 2021 by Harmon, his brothers, and his cousin, Angel Studios has released faith-based films such as sound of freedom (2023), king of kings (2025) and animal farm (2026).
