James Gunn Says Casting Batman in the DC Universe Is ‘Not Far Away’: Not Necessarily a ‘Movie Star’, but He Would Be ‘About the Same Age’ as Superman

James Gunn has shared a new update on the search for the DCU’s Batman, confirming that the role hasn’t been cast yet, but the casting process isn’t too far along. Gunn also said that he wanted to select the best actor for the role rather than looking for an established film star. He described them as contemporary and future best friends, saying that Batman and Superman would be around the same age. This version of Batman will appear in The Brave and the Bold and will exist apart from Robert Pattinson’s Batman in Matt Reeves’ films.
