Michael Douglas has revealed he hopes his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones ‘understands’ as he opens up about his infidelity to his first wife with Romancing the Stone co-star Kathleen Turner.
The Hollywood couple appeared together in a 1983 film and had a brief affair during his marriage to Deandra Luker in 1977, before finally tying the knot with Zeta-Jones in 1999. Michael, 82, revealed that his wife of 26 years had received a copy of his autobiography, ‘One Helluva Ride’, shortly before it hit bookshops.
This comes after Michael Douglas admitted his secret romance with Kathleen Turner after 40 years of denial.
Although his wife did not read the book before it was finished, he is optimistic that she will not be upset by the revelations of his past affairs.

Michael wrote about the affair in his book, “I must have asked Deandra to marry me after about 30 days of knowing her. And so, needless to say, we had a lot of ground to cover. She was a beautiful woman. I was obviously impressed by her, but she had never known anything about Hollywood, and I was already in a period of alcohol and drugs.”
“She didn’t know anything about it. So we had conflict. For example, the realization that I had an affair with Kathleen Turner in Romancing the Stone. Deandra and I were separated at the time, but it still happened,” the report said. express.
Turner, 72, released a statement regarding the recent revelations, telling People, “Oh my God, what an uproar there was about something from 40 years ago!” She added, “I love Michael, and I look forward to enjoying the book.”

In a previous interview, Kathleen had confirmed their mutual attraction and insisted that they never took it further, leading fans to assume that the romance was completely fictional.
In the book, Michael describes the “chemistry” between the two actors, who later starred together in various films.
Douglas met Katherine, with whom he starred in the Oscar-winning film Traffic, and the couple married in November 2000, having two children, Dylan, 26, and Carys, 23.
His outlook on life changed dramatically after he was diagnosed with stage four throat cancer in 2010. Medical professionals initially ignored the life-threatening condition, leading to seven weeks of radiation and chemotherapy treatment.
He said, “My career is no longer the most important thing in my life. My family were the closest people to me. And that continues 16 years after I was first diagnosed with cancer.”
