Sure, it’s been a few months now since Zendaya traded in flashy red carpet looks for a hard-earned break from the spotlight. But, we’re still thinking about her outfit so far while promoting her 2026 movies with Lo Roach. they really brought it for odyssey press tour, and there’s actually a particularly touching story behind the look.
Remember when Zendaya wore Sophia Webster gladiator sandals? She rocked a white and gold mini dress just ahead of the New York premiere odyssey. Check out this already memorable look:
These are perfect, aren’t they? Well, since the shoes are Sophia Webster vintage from about twelve years ago, the designer was having trouble finding them. Here’s what happened according to the woman who ultimately loaned them to Zendaya (via NBC Washington):

So, La Roach contacted Sophia Webster about this specific shoe. They didn’t have it. So, she took to her Instagram and asked her followers if they owned the shoe. I had them in the same size. He sent me the information, I passed them on to Law Roach. Then we waited, and before you knew it, Zendaya was wearing these shoes.
Her name is Yvette Harrison, a resident of Maryland who saw Sophie Webster’s post on her Instagram Stories and answered the call. Webster wanted them in size 40 and Harrison wanted them in size 39.5. In return, Webster promised to give her a free pair of heels in return for her demand. Webster recalls what happened next (via). Instagram):
I sent Yvette a pair of my Paloma heels when she first loaned us the shoes, and at the time we had no idea Zendaya was even going to wear them, Law was going to create this iconic look. I just thought what a very generous thing he had done. And she was very trusting in this crazy situation, but they were her second choice. Her first choice was actually out of stock, and I know they are Yvette’s dream shoes. So, they are back in stock…

They were initially out of stock, but came back in stock after Zendaya used them when she was packaging Yvette’s shoes. So Webster added a pair with a butterfly necklace from her jewelry line, which matched the heels that had butterflies on the back. Harrison’s reaction to the shoes is also very emotional:

How cute is he? Rather than composing an entirely new piece for a program, La Roach often chooses older pieces. And that practice made room for this lovely exchange between Harrison, Webster, and Zendaya. Now, Harrison not only has the shoes worn by Zendaya, but he got the chance to connect with one of his favorite designers, who gifted him two pairs of shoes and a piece of jewelry.
In addition to Zendaya killing it in those gladiator sandals, that same day she wore an ethereal feathered dress that the designer had been meaning to wear for two years.
