An old video of Sunita Ahuja about her husband Govinda working with his female co-stars has resurfaced online and is gaining fresh attention as the tension between the couple has come to the fore in public. In the clip, Sunita says that working with heroines is part of her profession and though any woman may feel jealous, she doesn’t mind as it is her job.
The video has gone viral following Govinda and Sunita’s comments on his recent public appearance with actor Komal Rani Swarnkar. The controversy comes with fresh rumors about Govinda’s personal life and Sunita’s repeated allegations about his alleged affairs.
The revived clip appears to be from the early years of their marriage and shows Govinda holding their daughter Tina in his arms. Govinda and Sunita married in 1987, welcomed Tina in 1989, and later had son Yashvardhan in 1997.
In the clip, a reporter asks Sunita, “He works in so many films and has become such a big star. Worked with so many heroines. So how do you feel? (He works in so many films and has become such a big star; he works with many actresses. So, how do you feel about this?)
Sunita replied, “This is his profession now. What should I feel? If there is work now, we will do it. And you say that there is jealousy, then any woman will definitely be jealous. But this is his profession so I don’t say anything. (After all, it’s her profession. It doesn’t matter how I feel about it; if it’s her job, she has to do it. And about the jealousy you mentioned – well, any woman would naturally feel jealous. But since it’s her profession, I don’t say anything.)
Recent conversation between Govinda and Sunita
The clip resurfaced after Govinda publicly responded to Susunita over her recent comments about her appearance with Komal Rani Swarnakar. In the video circulating online, the 62-year-old accused Sunita of interfering in his work, trying to harm his public image and using inappropriate language in public comments. He also said that he might need their support again in the future and asked him to stay within his limits.
Govinda said that Sunita has become very serious about the cleanliness campaign and now she wants to clean her husband.
She also said that while Susunita was busy with her work including her food show Mom is there right? And lock up season 2. He claimed that he had used Tina to call him out on both shows and sought her support, saying that it was his right to do so.
Responding to Sunita’s comment about age, Govinda said that all the leading actors in the country have worked with younger women. He said that those women got good films, name, fame and respect, while the actors got a chance to work with the youth and hence they themselves looked young. He then asked if Sunita did not want him to look younger and accused her of trying to sabotage a large business venture because of small expectations.
Govinda also claimed that a group or gang is standing behind Sunita.
Finally, he said that Sunita had started using increasingly derogatory expressions, including “streets of mother and sister“, and urged them to pray that people are not inspired by such behavior. He said that youth look up to public figures and often behave the same way as them. He said that if people start talking to them in the same way, it would be embarrassing for everyone, and asked them not to do so.
What caused the controversy
Sunita’s comments came while interacting with reporters in Mumbai on August 14, when she was asked about Govinda’s presence at the airport with Komal and the promotion of their upcoming projects. Raising questions on promotion, he said that the film has to be made first, promotion happens only when the film is ready.
He then criticized Govinda for being seen with a woman who he says is young enough to be his daughter. Sunita said that they should at least have some shame and there should be some standards. She also makes sharp comments about Komal’s appearance and says that if her “sugar daddy” is so rich, he should at least wear nice clothes.
Rumors about Komal Rani Swarnkar
Speculations ran high after Govinda and Komal were photographed together at the Mumbai airport, with the pictures being widely circulated on social media. Neither Govinda nor Komal have publicly confirmed that they are dating.
Komal Rani Swarnkar is a newcomer who is all set to debut in Bollywood opposite Govinda. He recently announced his comeback on the big screen Rupa And WorldlinessShe was introduced as the lead female character Rupa. Govinda is also producing projects.
