Brian Austin Green couldn’t please his fiancée, Sharna Burgess, on her return to “Dancing with the Stars” because production was “crushing a little bit with the presence of little kids in there.”
“I was there a lot in the beginning,” he said. told us weekly on Tuesday, before noting that children are reportedly no longer allowed in the audience.
“I can’t be there with Zayn and the kids. So we’ve found a time when it will work where they can stay home with someone and I can go,” Green justified, referring to her and Burgess’ 4-year-old son as well as his three children with ex Megan Fox.
“I’m always there, whether I’m sitting in the audience or sitting at home watching. I’m always in favor of [Sharna]. So we figure out what works episode by episode.”
The “Beverly Hills, 90210” actor — who shares sons Noah, 14, Bodhi, 12, and Journey, 10, with Fox — admitted that Burgess’ return to “DWTS” has been challenging because her “schedule is so busy.”
“They have a lot of things they do, so it’s not the time I’m used to [having] With him. It’s just taking time to get used to it. It’s going well, if she makes it to the end it’s going to be a really busy next month and a half,” the 53-year-old explained.
Burgess, 41, returned to “DWTS” as a professional for the first time in five years and is partnered with “The Bachelorette” star Tyler Cameron.
“So split the stuff up, and then when it’s done and he has time, it’s nice. Now we have time together again and it’s the same thing when I’m working,” Green said.
However, he’s happy to “hold down the fort” at home, pointing out, “Then it’ll be the same thing when I’m doing something.
“She will continue to hold the fort. We are learning solutions to this,” he said.
Green and Burgess began dating in 2020 before competing as a couple on season 30 of “DWTS” a year later. They later welcomed their first child in 2022 and got engaged shortly after.
Green recently shared on Instagram Stories that he was feeling “incredibly lonely,” and apologized for “distracting” Burgess and his “DWTS” partner.
“Honestly, this is more than I could have mentally prepared myself for. She’s my partner. She’s my best friend. And she’s gone,” he told his followers, before lamenting about going to the movies himself.
Her comments about being “lonely” were later criticized by Bachelor Nation alum Kaitlyn Bristowe — who competed (and won!) on Season 29 with pro partner Artem Chigvintsev — during a recent episode of her “Off the Vine” podcast.
The podcast host claimed that Green “humiliated” the pro dancer and “made her feel bad” with her social media posts.
“He was basically saying, ‘You’re never home. I’m all alone. And, like, you’re spending every day with Tyler,'” she alleged.
Bristowe suggested she talk to a “therapist” rather than “shaming” Burgess on her social media platforms.
