Riley Gaines was caught on camera taking instructions on what to say in a video segment.
In the clip the MAGA influencer is seen taking directions from someone off-camera as she reiterates things she claims she “feels very passionately about.” In a video shared to X on Saturday, June 13, Riley, 26, is seen filming a commercial for Patriot Mobile.
Counting on her fingers, the former swimmer repeats what she was told about the pillars of the company’s values, stating, “First Amendment, Second Amendment, sanctity of life, military, veterans and first responders.” She also seems to be clarifying whether she should mention “leftist” and how long she should say she has been a user of the service.
Viewers who watched the clip criticized him for this in the comments section. One wrote, “Nothing says ‘my deeply held values and beliefs’ like being caught looking confused on camera and being asked by a director to explain what those thoughts and values are.”
Another said, “Just a mouthpiece who can’t think/speak for themselves. So sad when they don’t even realize how weak minded they are. And the only reason they sit behind a microphone is so they have a recognizable name.”
A third posted, “1. I once watched an ex-Republican influencer almost actually elaborate on the topic – she immediately stopped elaborating – and then looked horrified. 2. Riley Gaines wore a sexual outfit to her recent leadership speech, and so I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s flaunting her Christian faith, too.”
A fourth social media user shared, “It is very clear from her appearance on the ghats that she got nothing there and sidestepped an issue. She is right about the game, but the way she became a right-wing comic leader is really hysterical and shows how rotten the mind of the tribal media is.”
A fifth said, “If you think Riley Gaines actually holds any of these beliefs, they are incredibly foolish. Riley should be thanking Lia Thomas regularly. She should honestly be paying her royalties. If Lia Thomas hadn’t been there that day, Riley would be nothing like the rest of us.”
