Selma Blair has a checkered history of biting celebrities — including Sienna Miller, Seth MacFarlane and Kate Moss — before Sunday’s violent plane incident in which she allegedly bit a flight attendant.
In her 2022 memoir, “Mean Baby: A Memoir of Growing Up,” Blair explains that her biting habit stemmed from feeling “overwhelmed” in public.
Blair writes in the book, “My systems collapse and become instantly short-circuited…In my life, social interactions have become burdensome.”
He described first falling in love with Sienna Miller at the Chateau Marmont in 2006, when he introduced himself to the fellow actress.
“I couldn’t be angry at her for somehow winning over me,” writes Blair. “So, I grabbed her arm and playfully bit it, as if she were an apple. Even as I put her arm in my mouth I was surprised at myself. I thought, What have I gotten myself into? Or her? This is terrible behavior.”
However, thankfully the “Cruel Intentions” star remembers that Miller didn’t “sham” her for the incident, labeling her as “the belle of the ball” for her reaction.
She also scolded “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane in 2004 after he was invited to a Las Vegas gathering by new friend Scarlett Johansson.
Blair, who has struggled with alcohol addiction in the past, says she was “starstruck” when introduced to the author in a Vegas club.
“What do I do in public situations where I admire someone, but feel like I bring nothing to the party? I bit her hand. ‘Wow!’ he shouted. ‘It’s really sad.’ This was not a disaster; I didn’t break the skin. But I soon began to hate myself,” Blair writes of the incident.
He also bit supermodel Kate Moss while hanging out with her and a few others in a London hotel suite after a Marc Jacobs fashion show.
The “Legally Blonde” actress remembers taking Polaroid photos with the model, who got laughed at when she decided to bite Moss’s finger.
“And because she laughed, I did it again,” Blair writes. “The second time, she didn’t laugh and said, ‘That really f–king hurts!'” The Calvin Klein model then punched Blair in the back and grabbed the actress’ thumb “and went straight into it.”
Blair adds, “It was the first time I had an idea of how much harm I could do to people when I cut them.” “Instantly, I turned into an embarrassed nursery school child. ‘Oh God,’ I whispered, ‘I’m so sorry.'”
The actress was arrested on October 11 after allegedly biting one flight attendant and punching another on a Delta Airlines flight en route to John F. Kennedy International Airport. He allegedly attacked the crew members after trying to open the plane door mid-flight.
The actress, who is in remission from multiple sclerosis, was reportedly stopped on the plane and arrested upon landing. In a 911 dispatch obtained by TMZ, the pilot claimed the “disruptive passenger” had “crushed his head on the bulkhead.”
Blair allegedly kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head while she was being driven to the hospital.
Once at the hospital, the actress allegedly assaulted a nurse, who has been charged.
Sources told Page Six that Blair – who also had a plane crash 10 years ago – has been charged with multiple counts, including two counts of kicking a policeman and assaulting a nurse, as well as another separate charge for the incident on the plane.
Her rep told Page Six, “Selma suffered a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition.”
“Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or illegal behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first,” a spokesperson for the airline told Page Six in a statement on Monday.
The FBI is currently investigating the incident.
