The AFC Champions League Elite match between Al Nassr and Nefchi Fergana is in doubt due to the security situation in Riyadh.
At least 12 people were killed and 309 injured in the attack on Riyadh’s main international airport on Saturday afternoon.
The attack on King Khalid International Airport was the third this week by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
Riyadh-based Nasr, captained by Cristiano Ronaldo, is scheduled to have a home match against Uzbek team Neftchi on Monday night.
The Asian Football Confederation and the clubs involved have not yet commented on the status of the match.
However, one of the Saudi Pro League fixtures scheduled for Sunday evening has been postponed. The game between Abha and Faisli will be rearranged at the end of the month.
“The SPL confirms that this decision was taken following a review of the circumstances surrounding the match,” the league wrote.
“[The decision was taken] “Ensuring that situations beyond the control of the clubs are addressed while maintaining the continuity of the competition, in accordance with approved regulatory procedures.”
Abha is about 900 kilometers south-west of Riyadh and about 200 kilometers from the Yemen border.
It is not clear whether Champions League matches will be similarly affected.
Four matches involving Saudi Arabian clubs are to be held in the continental competition to be held in the next two days.
Nasr is the only club to play at home. They are scheduled to host Nefchi at their home ground Al Awwal Park on Monday.
Uzbek partisans were already in Riyadh when the airport was attacked.
Fergana traveled via direct charter flight, while around 100 fans of the team are also reported to have traveled to the Saudi Arabian capital for the event.
This situation is likely to affect Al Hilal as well. The four-time Asian champions proceed with a “Saudi Clasico” against Jeddah’s Al Ittihad on Saturday night.
They won 3–2 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, to cement their position at the top of the SPL.
Simone Inzaghi’s side are due to fly to Doha to face Qatari side Al Sadd in Tuesday’s clash.
Qadsia flew from Dammam to Tashkent on Sunday. The team coached by Brendan Rodgers will face Pakhtakor on Monday.
Two-time defending Asian champions Al Ahli Saudi will face Al Wasl on Monday evening. He traveled from Jeddah to Dubai on Saturday.
