Kimberly Guilfoyle was confirmed as US Ambassador to Greece in September 2025.
A few days later, on Wednesday, October 9, multiple outlets reported that the U.S. State Department’s Office of the Inspector General had officially opened an investigation into Gilfoyle and alleged misconduct in the office.
In addition to the pay-for-play donor scandal, the US Ambassador to Greece faces additional allegations of improper corporate lobbying, abusive treatment of embassy staff, and excessive spending.
