Dolly Parton’s nephew allegedly used barbed wire to avoid estate lawsuit

Dolly Parton’s nephew Brian Seaver reportedly took drastic measures to avoid punishment in his legal battle with the late country icon’s estate.

The singer’s former head of security is being accused of attempting to avoid a court summons with yellow warning tape “around the front steps” of his Tennessee home, Page Six can confirm.

Barbed wire was reportedly “draped over the railings leading to the front door.”

The man who tried to serve them wrote in documents obtained by Page Six that “there were also ‘no trespassing’ signs on the lawn and at the front door.”

The filing included photos of preventive measures, which the server claimed were not in place on September 24 or 25 – but by September 26 the house was cordoned off.

Parton’s management company She’s Alive, LLC pointed to Seaver’s extreme steps in arguing Friday against a request to move the hearing to October 9 so she would have time to seek legal advice.

Seaver claimed that he would not be able to meet with the attorney he wished to retain until October 5.

However, the filing states, “He waited until the last moment to take any action and the court should not reward him for that behavior.”

“Mr. Seaver already has attorneys who appear to be eager to represent him,” the court documents continued, referencing an expletive-filled email sent days before Parton’s August 25 death.

In the message, Seaver insisted that he and his lawyers were ready to “play” and quipped, “Just wait until my lawyers harass you.”

The email was sent on August 21 – and a month later, news came that Seaver had been removed as security chief.

He released a statement on September 22 regarding the “unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions”, writing that he and his security team “refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions [they] The trust is being taken in bad faith and with the intention of taking advantage of the life of someone who has willingly given so much.”

The same day, Parton’s longtime manager, Donnie Knowzel, requested a restraining order because he claimed Seaver had tried to extort him for money and threatened him.

Additionally, She’s Alive, LLC filed a lawsuit alleging that Seaver sent threatening messages that frightened employees and caused many to flee the office and hire private security.

Parton’s nephew has denied all the allegations against him.

A judge agreed to move his hearing to October 20 amid alleged issues with Seaver’s legal representation.

Seaver is the son of Dolly’s sister Cassie Parton, taking over the security role previously held by his father, Larry Seaver.

Brian was the one to publicly announce his aunt’s passing. The “9 to 5” hitmaker has died at age 80 after a secret battle with cancer.
