Miley Cyrus’ new album ‘Bass Persuades’ has one of the biggest falls from No. 1 in Billboard chart history.

Miley Cyrus has made Billboard history — but not the kind she was expecting.

Her latest album, “Bass Persuades” fell from No. 1 to No. 157 on the Billboard 200 in its second week, the largest fall from the top spot by a female artist in chart history.

The album defied expectations by originally debuting at number 1 on 28 September. Including physical sales and streaming, it sold approximately 61,000 album units in total, according to billboard.

The previous biggest drop by a female artist was Madonna’s “Madame X”, which fell from No. 1 to No. 77 in 2019.

Celine Dion surpassed that figure a few months later when “Courage” fell from No. 1 to No. 111.

“Bass Persuades” is Cyrus’ first album released through Atlantic Records after leaving Columbia Records earlier this year.

Atlantic offered the album at a discounted digital price and released 16 vinyl variants, nine CD versions, six download variants, and one cassette, allowing “Bass Persuades” to beat out country singer Ella Langley’s “Dandelion” by about 70 units.

Cyrus, who mysteriously removed her last name from her social media handles before the album’s release, celebrated the win when Atlantic sent a floral wreath shaped like the number 1 to her home.

Cyrus, “Bass Persuades Being #1 Is More Than Winning.” wrote on instagram In those days.

He added, “This process has been some of the best times I’ve had. Everyone involved made it possible and more importantly fun and memorable.”

“Thank you to Atlantic, my team, and everyone who walks with me with conviction. I love you. To the fans, you make my world go round. Making music for you brings immense joy to my life. Forever.”

Cyrus’ previous album, 2025’s “Something Beautiful”, debuted at No. 4 after selling approximately 44,000 total album units.

“Bass Persuades” is Cyrus’ first No. 1 album since 2013’s “Bangerz.”

Bon Jovi set the overall record after “This House Is Not for Sale” fell from No. 1 to No. 169 in its second week in 2018.

Cyrus has not embarked on a full tour since her 2014 “Bangerz” world tour, although she has teased the possibility of a possible residency.

She is scheduled to perform two shows at the Hollywood Bowl on October 16 and October 18.

Nearly 1.5 million fans joined the online presale queue for a chance to buy one of the approximately 18,000 tickets, According to The Hollywood Reporter.

Cyrus said, “I decided to do the show at the Bowl because I knew my bed would be only 10 minutes from home by 11 o’clock.” Apple Music’s Zane Lowe told Last month.

“Now I go through the queue to find out that my calculations are correct, and people will come to me. I don’t have to drive to you. Proved. That was a test. I won.”
