Whenever there is a cast change in a TV series, you never know how it will shake things up. Sure, NBC’s long-running singing competition soundCurrently airing season 30 on the 2026 TV schedule, it has gone through a lot over the years. Still, you never know what the chemistry will be, especially when the banter between the judges plays such an important role.
Yes, Queen Latifah and Riley Green may be newbies this season, but that’s not stopping them from getting involved in the shenanigans that often happen when singing veterans compete to fill out their teams. Not only are they holding their own against veteran coach Adam Levine, who won Season 29 with Alexia Jay and Kelly Clarkson, but they’re also creating memorable moments that will definitely be talked about.

The Voice’s Kelly Clarkson prepared a survival kit for Riley Green while she pranked Adam Levine
His little affair involved a “surrender white flag” that was waved when the country singer knew he was about to lose. Additionally, there were tissues for tears, a compact mirror to cheer herself on, and a jar of nuts to help her get back up. Not one to miss an opportunity for a surprise, Clarkson made sure that when Green opened the jar it also doubled as a prank. The whole exchange made me laugh and I wanted to see more of the two together.
Not ready to shine, Marshall The guest star had some fun with veteran judge Adam Levine. After Kyle Matthews got a four-chair turn for singing the Vince Gill tune “When I Call Your Name”, the Maroon 5 frontman announced he would fight to get her on his team. This inspired Riley Green to draw out the duck noises and have Levin sit in a straw hut, apparently known as the “duck blind”. The tricks were so stupid that both men took each other out of the fight, and Kayleigh surprised everyone by choosing Queen Latifah as her coach.
Honestly, I think the singer made a great choice going with someone affluent who also loves country music.
I got emotional over a contestant’s song that caught Kelly Clarkson’s attention
While there have been some great singers in Season 30, the best performance from Episode 5 of the Blind Auditions has to go to Nina Howland, who performed the Bonnie Raitt track “Love Me Like a Man.” With a swagger and swagger that physically embodied the songs while her vocals soared, she excited the audience, the judges’ chairs turned, and I wanted to stand up and cheer from the house. Not only was Kelly Clarkson the first one to turn up, but she was so excited to jump in with her pitch that she woke up to the curse words!
Nina came to her audition knowing that she could attract the attention of her idol if she performed Clarkson’s favorite Rite tune. It was a special, touching moment that left me emotional because, while most contestants were expecting at least a chair turn coming into the show, this singer came up with a plan which she executed perfectly. It’s moments like these that remind me that sometimes the biggest dreams can come true.
Only one episode of Blinders left for this season soundThe battles are just around the corner, and I don’t envy the judges that they have to pair talents against each other so they can start eliminating. And while the winner won’t be announced until December, we already know the competition series will shake things up season 31 Voice: Celebrity. I’ll definitely be joining in, and I just hope the tricks and pranks never stop.
